OBITUARY: Ranney Rodakker Erickson Lokken, 1864-c1950, Worth County, Iowa


                     Ranney Rodakker Erickson Lokken

Ranney Rodakker Erickson Lokken, pioneer resident of Worth Co. was born
November 29, 1864 at Laurdal, Telemark, Norway to Birgit Amonsdotter
Mandt and Erik Thorgrimson Erickson.  She was baptized at the Laurdal
Prestegard in Norway in 1865.

She came to America when five years of age.  She was confirmed at Silver
Lake by Rev. L. Tosdal on July 16, 1880.   She married Bjorn J. Lokken
on May 24, 1883 at Northwood by Rev. C.T. Nelson.  She spent her entire
life on a farm seven miles west of Northwood until her husband died in
1934.  They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. She
lived 16 years with her daughter in Emmons.

She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Edward Brue and a brother
and sister who died in infancy.

She is survived by two sons, Jens and Elmer, Northwood and five daughters,
Mrs. Ida Dagestad, Mrs. Chris Laursen, Albert Lea and Mrs. Alfred Johnson,
Glenville.  She also reared three other children:  Mrs. Oscar Woods, Lake
Mills; Engvold Brue, Spenser, WI, children of deceased half-brother and
Lila Peterson, Alhambra, CA, daughter of Mr. Lokken's brother;
12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.  Funeral was held at
Silver Lake, with Rev. J.M. Haaland officiating.
