OBITUARY: Duane R. Eastman, Worth County, Iowa Duane R. Eastman [ The Northwood Anchor online - July 09, 2002 - www.northwoodanchor.com ] Duane R. Eastman, 61, Mason City, died at the Muse Norris Hospice inpatient unit in Mason City, Thursday, July 4,2002. Funeral services were Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Paul Finger officiating. Interment was at the Kensett Cemetery. Duane, the youngest son of Vern and Florence (Torgeson) Eastman, was born Nov. 11, 1940 in rural Wells, MN. He attended grade school in rural Walters, MN and high school in Kiester, MN graduating with the class of 1958. He married Lois Sorenson at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kiester, MN on Aug. 31, 1958. He was employed at the Alden Co-op elevator in Alden, MN until 1968 when he started working at Jacob E. Decker & Son in Mason City. In 1976 Duane and his family were transferred to the Decker Plant in Garland TX, then in 1979 the family was transferred back to Armour Foods in Mason City where Duane worked until January of 2002. Through the years Duane enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, leather tooling, traveling, antiquing and collecting Joe Camel memorabil ia. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lois of 44 years, his daughters Lisa Nordquist and her husband Phil of Dallas, TX, Lana Beaver and her husband Randy of Mason City, and Lara Arndt and her friend Michael Beem of Denver, CO. Duane will also be dearly missed by his two grandchildren Aaron Roy Beaver and Mandi Lee Dunbar, his father Vern Eastman of Albert Lea, MN and his brother Don Eastman and his wife Audrey of Wells, MN.
