OBITUARY: Charles L. Cooper, 1920-2004, Worth Co., Iowa [Based on an obituary in the Northwood Anchor online; July 14, 2004] Charles L. Cooper Charles L. Cooper, age 83, of Northwood, Iowa, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, Iowa, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Interment was in the Kensett Cemetery. Charles L. Cooper was born July 17, 1920 at Kensett, the son of Ross and Edith (Barnes) Cooper. On June 2, 1946, Charles married Virginia Pahl of St. Ansgar, Iowa, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. He is survived by two daughters, Jane (Steve) Trainer, Mason City; and Carol (Steve) Hengesteg, Northwood; two sons, Marvin of Fargo, North Dakota, and Philip (Nancy) of Glenville, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Christopher Trainer, Julie and Paul Hengesteg, Jesse Cooper and Nathan, Danielle and Devin Cooper. Also surviving is one brother, Kenneth (Lois) Cooper, Lime Springs, Iowa; and sisters-in-law, Doris Cooper of Northwood and Sylvia Pahl of Mason City, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Virginia; brother Warren; and daughter-in-law, Renee Cooper. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements.
