OBITUARY: THELMA JURGENSON BRONES, Worth County, Iowa

      THELMA JURGENSON BRONES   [1911-2001]

LAKE MILLS - The funeral for Thelma Brones, 90, of Lake Mills, will be held
10:30 a.m. today at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, with the Rev. Bill
Peters officiating. Burial will be at Beaver Creek Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, and
also will be held one hour before services today at the church.

Thelma Brones passed away Monday evening (July 23, 2001) at the Muse Norris
Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Thelma Jurgenson Arneson Brones was born on May 7, 1911, at Upham, N.D.,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jurgenson. At the age of 2, her mother died
during childbirth. She then moved to Joice, to be reared by her aunt Sara
Arneson.

She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, where
she was a lifetime member. She graduated from Lake Mills High School.

She married Lyle S. Brones at Joice on Jan. 3, 1929. She tragically lost her
husband in an automobile accident on Easter Sunday in 1955. She worked as a
clerk at Dunn's V-Store at Forest City before becoming an employee of Deluxe
Products, where she retired.

Thelma passed away Monday, July 23, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit in Mason City. She will be remembered for her strength, her
love of family and friends, and as an accomplished pianist.

Thelma is survived by one son, Max Brones and his wife, Margie, of Lake Mills;
one daughter, Diane Sewald and her husband, Edward, of Apple Valley, Minn.;
six grandchildren, Lynn Brones and his wife, Laura, of Johnston, Lee Brones
and his wife, Carolyn, of Louisville, Ky., Lisa Brones and her fianc, Chris
Huber, of Louisville, Ky., Lori Westcott and her husband, Scott, of Lake
Mills, Jennifer Rasmusson and her husband, Mark, of Chandler, Ariz., and
Stacy Sewald of Minnetonka, Minn.; eight great-grandchildren, Brock and Brett
Brones, of Johnston, Marques, Brandon and Kelsea Brones, of Louisville, Ky.,
Megan and Morgan Fjelstad, and Madison Westcott all of Lake Mills. Thelma is
also survived by a sister, Ella Pedersen, of Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant sister;
three brothers, Maurice, Jack and Joe; and one sister, Alice Mott.
