OBITUARY: Harriet Bottolfson, Worth County, Iowa

Harriet Bottolfson, 98, Northwood, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the
Mercy Medical Center--North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services were Monday at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood, with
Rev. Selmer G. Hernes officiating. Burial was at The Central Freeborn
Lutheran Church Cemetery, Albert Lea, MN.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Harriet was born on Aug. 5, 1903 in Manchester, MN to Oscar and Ragna
(Torkelson) Thykeson.

She grew up on a farm in Freeborn County, Minnesota, graduated from Winona
State University, taught elementary children in LaCresent, MN prior to her
marriage and moved to Northwood when her husband, Elder, became employed at
Northwood State Bank. He also became postmaster in Northwood.

She was an active member in First Lutheran Church, Martha Circle, Twenties
Club and P.E.O.

Harriet was known for her graciousness and love of roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elder and one brother.

Survivors include her two sons, Richard Bottolfson of Conroe, TX and Philip
Bottolfson of St. George, UT; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
