OBITUARY: Tom Bergo, Worth County, Iowa

               Tom Bergo  [c1872-1929]

TOM BERGO (56) of Minneapolis, Mn, died January 23, 1929.  His remains
were brought to Lake Mills for the funeral at Sion Lutheran Church, with
the Rev. H. Rosenqvist in charge.

He had been born to Mr. & Mrs. O.T. Bergo on July 25, 1872.  He grew to
adulthood in the community east of Lake Mills where he helped his dad
farm.  In 1898 he rented the Burdick farm for himself.  Two years later
he married Hattie Thorsen.  They had one son, Reuben.  After farming a
number of years, they moved to Tagus, ND where he operated a meat market.

They returned to Forest City, Iowa where he had a restaurant business and
later moved to Lake Mills where he operated a pool hall.  Mr. and Mrs.
Bergo lived in Minneapolis for the past 16 years where he had been
employed as an apartment house manager.

He is survived by his wife; son; three sisters and 5 brothers: Knute,
Oscar and Andrew, all residents of this area; Amos, Los Angeles, CA and
Henry, Westby, Mt.  He is also survived by Mrs. O.T. Bergo, his mother.
