Glenn H. Berge, 76, of rural Kensett, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Mercy
Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City.

A memorial service was held Friday at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett,
with Rev. Selmer G. Hernes officiating.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Glenn was born Sept. 7, 1926, in a log cabin near Joice, IA, to John and
Alice May (Bergan) Berge. He attended country school near Kensett through
8th grade, and some years later earned his GED. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II in Europe. Glenn farmed most of his life, but also
worked for the city of Northwood before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alvin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; daughter and two sons, Sandra
and Scott Douglass, Mike and Barb Berge, and Larry and Jeanette Berge; nine
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mavis Rustad and a
sister-in-law, Margaret Berge.
