NORTHWOOD -- Olga Dorthea Olson, 87, died Saturday (April 5, 1997) at the
Lutheran Retirement Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday
at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter with the Rev. Kathy Larson
officiating. Burial will be in the Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation
will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home,
Highway 65 South, Northwood.

Olga was born on Feb. 4, 1910, in Barton Township, Worth County,
the daughter of Ole L. and Mary Knutson Anderson. She was baptized
and confirmed at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter. She graduated
from Carpenter High School in 1929. Olga married Melvin A. Olson
on April 23, 1930, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.
They lived in Mason City until moving to the farm near Carpenter
in 1942. Olga later moved to Northwood in 1980.

Olga was active in the ELCW as a circle member and the Carpenter
Friendship Club. She enjoyed family gatherings, her grandchildren,
church activities, quilting and handwork.

Olga is survived by one daughter, Carol, and her husband, Caryl
Rohrer, of Clarion; four sons, Arnold, and his wife, Mary Kay,
of Minneapolis, Minn., Keith, and his wife, Sandra, of Glenville,
Minn., James, and his wife, Judy, of Northwood, and Roger Olson
of St. Ansgar; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers,
Leonard, Olaf and Anton.
