Petition of William Morrison and his wife for Inquest on the Estate of Fredrick
Baum August 15, 1808
To the honourable Jonathan Walker Esq. President and his associates Judges of
the Court of Common Pleas of Mifflin now composing an Orphans Court at Lewistown
in and for said County.
The petition of William Morrison and Catharine his wife late Catharine Baum one
of the children and heirs of Frederick Baum late of Union township dec'd in
right of said Catharine and of the same William Morrison as aliene of Henry
Lienbach and Magdalena his wife late Magdalena Baum another of the children and
heirs of said Fredrick Baum dec'd.
Most respectfully sheweth
That the said Frederick Baum lately died intestate leaving a widow to wit
Rosanna since intermarried with Robert Scott and issue four children to wit,
your petitioner Catharine intermarried with your petitioner William Morrison,
Magdalena intermarried with Henry Lienbach and whose share of the estate herein
after mentioned is by deed dated the first day of July 1808 aliened to your
petitioner William Morrison, Christiana intermarried with Hugh Alexander and
Elizabeth still in her minority and who has for her guardian William Alexander
of Union township, Mifflin County. And that the said intestate was seized in his
demise as of fee of and in a certain messauge and plantation situate in Union
township Mifflin County adjoining lands of William Alexander, James Alexander,
John Wilson, Nathan Allen Dec'd and others containing two hundred sixty seven
acres and allowance with the appurtenances.
Your petitioners therefore humbly pray, your honours to award an inquest to make
partition of the said premises to and among the children and representives of
the said intestate in such manner and in such proportion as by the laws of this
Commonwealth is directed of such partition can be made without preduice to or
spoil the whole then to partition and divide the premises into as many parts as
the same can be convienently be done without prediuce to spoiling the same and
to make value each part. But if no such partition as aforesaid can be made then
to value and appraise the same and make a report of the proceeding herein
according to law. Your petitioners will pray.
