  LEONARD STUDLEY
Port Allegany Reporter-ArgusPort Allegany is poorer today for the loss of
young William Leonard Studley at the age of 32 years, just when life had
really begun to open for him in earnest.
Leonard was born at Open Brook, north of town, Friday, May 10, 1903, to
Alfred and Minerva Ostrander Studley and attended the local schools. He was
employed at Duke Center and Rock City until going to Eldred to reside a few
  years ago.
Married to Miss Cora Reese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Reese of
Austin, Pa., Aug. 6, 1927, she survives with one son, Carroll Richard, aged 6
years, who with his parents mourn the loss of a good husband, father and son.
He was taken ill several months ago and received treatment in the Kane
Summit Hospital for a time. Blood transfusions were given him and the best
that science and skill could offer were provided, yet nothing could save the
young sufferer who was brought to the home of his parents on the Brooklynside
nine weeks ago, and where death ensued.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist
Episcopal Church, the Rev. E. Jones Burton officiating with burial in Fairview
Cemetery beside his young son Tommy Gene, and a young brother, Freeman Lester
Studley, who passed away 21 years ago, at the age of 8 years.
Among friends and relatives from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Odell Johnson and
children of Perry, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ostrander and sons of Cyclone,
Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allison, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of Bradford, Pa., Mr.
Charles Ostrander, Miss Anna Bell Ostrander, Mrs. Edna Ostrander, Charles
Ostrander, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sherfurne of Olean, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs.
