She was the daughter of David Smith of Lycoming County. It is taken from the "Flint Journal" of December 11, 1941. UMPSTEAD-Clara Umpstead, age 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1941, at the home of son, 3236 E. Pierson Rd. Fu- neral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, 1941, from Groves & Co. Funeral home, by Rev. E.H. Longman officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills ceme- tery. Remains will be at the home of son, 3236 E. Pierson Rd. until 8 a.m., Saturday, then returned to the funeral home for services. Death was caused by complications. She came to Flint 26 years ago from Montgomery, Pa. Sur- viving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Albert Waf- fenschmidt of Davison. Mrs. Leland Parker of Mt. Morris.
