Sudden Death
     Mrs. Jacob Olmstead died suddendly at her
home in Clintonville on Thursday morning
between 2 and 3 o'clock.  Mrs. Olmstead
had been in delicate health for a number of
years.  She retired on Thursday night with
her daughter Annie without showing any
indication of feeling any worse than usual.
Annie was awakened by her mother, who
complained of a pain in her arm, and went
down stairs after medicine.  After a short
sleep, she was again awakened, and this time
found her mother dying.  Before she could
call any of the neighbors her mother expired.
The funeral will take place at 1:30 Saturday.
Internment in Fairview cemetery.  Deceased
was born at Salladasburg July 4, 1840.  She
was married to Jacob Olmstead in 1867.  Seven
children were born, three dying in infancy.
Those who survive are, here husband and
Torrence of Fritz Station; Samuel and Annie
of this place, and Edith of Millersburg.  Mrs.
Olmstead never recovered fully from the
shock twenty-two years ago, when the family
moved here.  The eldest boy was killed by a
train at the Reading depot here.  She has
been a member of the M.E. church past 12
years.  Two brothers, Lewis and John C.
Swartz of Salladasburg and Miss Jane Swartz
of this place also survive.
