The Carnesville Herald And Advance October 29, 1931
The date for turning on the electric lights in the city of Carnesville has been
announced as next Thursday night, November 5th, and this should and will be, a
gala occasion for Carnesville.

Mr. Pat Lynch, superintendent of this division with headquarters at Hartwell
stated to a representative of the Herald that more details would be given later
and the Herald is preparing some special copy for next week's issue relative to
the occasion. We hope to get out a special edition next week and ask all those
having anything for publication to get their copy in early as it is our desire to
get the paper in the mail before Thursday so that the public may be informed as
the program to be given Thursday night in celebration of the event.

After a century and a quarter without electric light historic Carnesville is to be
lighted and this should call for especial enthusiasm on part of the citizens both
of Carnesville and throughout the county.

Watch for next week's paper and plan to be in Carnesville on the night of November
5th.
