The will of Elijah Hanks of Brush Creek Twp.

        I, Elijah Hanks, Do certify that this being my last Will and
Testament, do hereby distribute my property as follows, viz:
To my dearly beloved wife Nancy Hanks I do will to her The house and lot
wherein I now live as long as she liveth, after her death to fall back to
Rosell Jackson.
Also, two notes of two hundred dollars each against Bartley Hughes,
Also, one note of Three hundred dollars against Benjamin Hanks,  Also one
cow and all my house furniture.
To my son Benjamin Hanks I do will one hundred Dollars, now in the
Everett Bank.
To my daughter Mary Duvall I do will one hundred dollars, now in the
Everett Bank.
To my daughter Rebecca Akers I do will one hundred dollars, now in the
Everett Bank.
To my daughter Martha Jackson, I do will one hundred dollars, now in the
Everett Bank.
The balance in the Everett Bank shall be equally divided among my
children.
The one cow and heifer shall be sold and the proceeds to go towards
paying Funeral Expenses and Doctor Bill.  The balance of Funeral Expenses
and Doctor Bill shall be collected out of one of the notes held against
Bartley Hughes.
After the death of my wife Nancy Hanks, the House wherein I now live and
lot of ground shall fall into the possession of Rosell Jackson.
I also appoint Mason Barton as my Executor of this my will.
Where I have set my hand and seal this Fifth day of January in the year
A.D. 1886,
In the presence of these witnesses,
Witness:                                [signed] Elijah Hanks

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
        County of Fulton, SS:                   Before me W.H.
Nelson, Register for the Probate of Wills &c in and for said County,
personally came Mahlon Barton and Dr. J.C. Emigh, the subscribing
witnesses to the within instrument of writing, who being duly qualified
according to law, did depose and say that they were personally present,
and saw Elijah Hanks, late of the township of Br. Creek, in said county
deceased, the testator herein named sign his name to said writing, and
seal the same, and heard him publish and declare the said instrument as
and for his last will and testament, and at the time of so doing he was
of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of
their knowledge and belief, and that their own names thereto subscribed
as witnesses were so subscribed at the request of the testator in his
presence and in the presence of each other.

6" day of February A.D. 1886.           [signed] J.C. Emigh

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
        County of Fulton, SS:           Before me Register of Wills
&c in and for said county, personally came Mason Barton, who being duly
qualified according to law, deposes and says that Elijah Hanks, the
testator above named, late of Br. Cr. twp. said county, deceased, died on
Monday the 11" day of January A.D., 1886, about 7 oclock A.M. of said
day, to the best of his knowledge and belief.

        County of Fulton, SS:           You Mason Barton do swear
that as Executor of Elijah Hanks, late of the township of Brush Creek,
deceased, you will well and truly administer the goods and chattels,
rights and credits of said deceased according to law, and will also
diligently regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of the
law relating to collateral Inheritances.

Be it remembered that on the 6" day of February A.D., 1886, before me was
duly proven the last will and testament of Elijah Hanks late of Brush
Creek township, deceased, and Letters testamentary thereon granted to
Mason Barton the Executor named
