  Brookville - Mrs. Joanna P. Himes, 89, of 130 Mabon Street, died Tuesday in 
  the Sister of Mercy Mother House in Erie.
    Born Dec. 22, 1902, in Arcadia, she was a daughter of Eugene and Bridget 
  McAvoy Quinn.  She was married to Harry R. Himes on Nov. 19, 1929.  He 
  survives.
    She graduated from Brookville Hospital's nurses training in 1928 and was 
  employed by Brookville Hospital as a registered nurse.  She moved to Erie in 
  December 1990.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in 
  Brookville.
    Survivors include her husband; two sons, Fr. Robert P. Himes of Grandview, 
  Wash., and Michael A. Himes of Charleston, S.C.; four daughters: Sister Mary 
  Andrew Himes, RSM, of Erie, Corothy O'Connell of Engield, Conn., Mrs. Robert 
  (Joanna) Spazzarini of Huntsville, Ala., and Mrs. Bernard (Sheila) Giscus of 
  Lake City; 20 grandchildren and a niece.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Tahany, and a sister, Mrs. 
  Harold (Iola) McAdoo.
