Daily Nevada State Journal March 7, 1886
Mrs. Borland-The Martinez Item, of March 3d, says:
The remains of the late Mrs. Erla Borland will be conveyed to Sacramento, via
Benicia, for interment in the family lot in the I.O.O.F. cemetery there, this
morning at 9 o'clock. A short funeral service will be held at the residence,
previous to the departure, Rev. Dr. Abercrombie officiating. The subject of
this notice was born in North Bridgewater, Mass., August 9, 1856. Her father, S.
E. Millett, was lost on the wreck of the steamer Brother Jonathan. Her mother
and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Crego, reside in San Francisco. She leaves a son
aged 11 years. The deceased resided in Reno, Nevada, for a number of years,
leaving a large circle of friends in that place who will be pained to learn of
her demise. She was the center of a large number of admiring friends and
acquaintances in this vicinity over whom her sudden death casts a sorrowful
gloom, and whose bands are extended in heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved
husband and son.
