Returned to Die

This morning at half-past 7 o'clock Martin Barron, proprietor of the City Hotel,
died, surrounded by the members of his family. The deceased was a native of
County Kilkenny, Ireland, nearly 40 years of age. He was an old time resident
of Wadsworth, whence he removed to Arizona, living there for over five years.
In May last he returned and located in Reno, buying the City Hotel premises on
North Virginia street. About a year ago pulmonary catarrh developed into
consumption, and he has since been continually on the decline. A month ago he
went to Sacramento with hopes of recuperating, but, feeling his end approaching,
returned on yesterday morning's train, and sank peaceably to his final rest. He
was a man of integrity, and, though reserved, numbered a host of friends. He
leaves a wife and sister. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Friday
afternoon, March 29th, from the Catholic Church.

Death of Martin Barron
Yesterday morning at half-past seven o'clock, Martin Barron, the well-known
proprietor of the City Hotel in this city, breathed his last, having succumbed
to the dread destroyer, consumption. He was a native of County Kilkenny,
Ireland, and aged about 40 years. Leaving only a wife and sister, the latter
the wife of Mr. Thomas Welch. Deceased resided for many years in Wadsworth
whence he migrated to Arizona, but finally located in Reno, last May, when he
purchased the City Hotel property. The insidious disease which carried him away
developed itself from catarrh only about a year ago. For a month past he has
been in Sacramento, hoping to improve, but returned on Tuesday's train, only to
gradually sink and pass away in the bosom of his family. He was possessed of
genial disposition, and had many friends. The funeral will take place to-morrow
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the St. Theresa Catholic Church.
