St Mary's Newspaper   April 6, 1944
RIDGWAY-  Edward J. Winslow of Benezette, descendent of a pioneer Elk County 
family, died in the Kaul Memorial Hospital, St Marys, Tuesday night.  He was 
the son of Joshua Wadsworth Winslow, who opened the section lying north of 
Benezette, known as Winslow Hill.

Winslow, born in Benezette, May 5, 1866, attended the schools of his township 
and assisted on his father's farm.  He owned the farm called "Elk Brook", one 
of the show places of the section.  He leaves five children: James of 
Brookville;Lawrence and Mrs Leslie Tuttle of Benezette; Mrs Fred Thorwart of 
Gillen Station, Fox Township and Theodore of Pontiac Mich.
