ARTHUR W. SCHAFFER
   MONTOUR FALLS - Arthur W. Schaffer, 74, of Odessa RD died Sunday in 
Schuyler Hospital following an illness.
   He was born November 27, 1894 in Brockport, Pa, to Mr. and Mrs. John 
Schaffer.
   He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Earl Havens, Montour Falls; Mrs. 
Earl Halpin, and Mrs. Daryl Freas of Elmira, and Mrs. John Doane of Brockway, 
Pa.; five sons, Lloyd Schaffer, Brockport, Pa.; Richard and Robert of Elmira; 
Leo of Brandycamp, Pa.; Vincent and Gordon of Odessa; 27 grandchildren, four 
great-grandchildren.
   Friends may call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls 
Tuesday 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 
p.m. with the Rev. Paul deMcurers officiating.  Burial will be at Laurel Hill 
Cemetery, Odessa.
   You are not forgotten loved one
     Nor will you ever be
   As long as live and memory last
     We will remember thee
   We miss you now, our hearts are sore
     As time goes by, we miss you more
   Your loving smile, your gentle face
     No man can fill your vacant place.
Died Sunday Sept. 8, 1968
