Elk County Gazette  9/14/1905
   Joseph Schoeberl died at his home near Wolflick Run, Monday morning at 2:30 
o'clock. Mr. Schoeberl had been ailing for some time but was able to attend to 
his regular duties. The end came unexpected, for he retired in apparent good 
health. At about 2 o'clock he became restless and before medical aid could be 
summoned he had gone to meet his Creator. Death was due to apoplexy.
   Funeral services were held at the St. Marys Church Wednesday morning at 9 
o'clock. Solemn requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Willibald. Interment was 
made in the Catholic cemetery.
   Deceased was born in St. Marys 67 years ago. In 1872, he was married to Mary 
Weinzierl, who with eleven children still survive him. The children are: Mrs. 
Barbara Cavanaugh, Mrs. Katherine Herzing, John, Margaret, George, Mollie, 
Annie, Joseph, Theresia and two samll girls, the youngest of which is five 
years old.
   A host of loving friends and relatives will cherish franrant memories of his 
model life. He was a loving husband and a kind and affectionate father. May he 
rest in peace.

Additional Comments:
Mr. Schoeberl was born in Germany not in St. Marys, PA. He came to St. Marys in 
1847. He married in 1871 not 1872 as stated in his obituary. Obituary has 
oldest daughter as Barbara Kerner but it has been corrected to read Barbara 
Cavanaugh.
