Elk County Gazette  7/22/1915
   Following a long illness, John Curry, an aged and respected citizen of this 
city, passed away at his home on Curry Avenue, last Thursday afternoon at 2:50 
o'clock. The funeral was conducted at the Sacred Heart Church at 9 o'clock on 
Saturday morning and interment was made in the St. Marys cemetery. The casket 
bearers were John Cashman, Hugh Malloy, E.J. McLaughlin, Joseph Hanes, Michael 
Gerg and George Zelt.
   John Curry was born in Ireland, June 16, 1883, and was eighty-two years of 
age at the time of his death. In early childhood he migrated to Canada from 
Ireland and later came to St. Marys where he has resided for the past forty-
five years. Here he secured employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company 
and remained in the employ of this company until five years ago when he was 
pensioned. He is survived by his wife, one son, Simon Curry, and four 
daughters, Mrs. William Anson of Idaho, Mrs. William Smeed of Warren, PA, Mrs. 
John Haberberger and Mrs. Edward Gerg of this city.
