Whereas Joseph Hibberd Son of Josiah Hibberd of Darby in the County of Chester 
& Elizabeth Garrat Daughter of William & Mary Garret of the Same place having 
Declared their Intentions of Marriage with each other before several Monthly 
Meetings of the people Called Quakers at Darby aforesaid according to the good 
order used among them And having the Consent of parents Concerned their Said 
proposals of Marriage was allowed of by the Said Meeting. Now these are to 
certify whom it may Concern that for the full accomplishing their said 
Intention this Twenty Sixth Day of the Eleventh month in the Year of our Lord 
one Thousan Seven hundred & Thirty one, two. They the Said Joseph Hibberd and 
Elizabeth Garrat appeared in in a publick Meeting of the Said people at Darby 
aforesaid & ye Said Joseph Hibberd taking the Said Elizabeth Garrat by the 
hand Did in Solemn Manner openly Declare that he took her the Said Elizabeth 
Garrat to be his Wife promising with the Lords Assistance to be unto her a 
loving & faithfull Husband until Death Should Separate them And then & there 
in ye said Assembly the Said Elizabeth Garrat did in like openly declare that 
She took the Said Joseph Hibberd to be her Husband promising with the Lord 
Assistance to be unto him a faithfull & loving Wife until Death Should 
Separate them, And moreover they the Said Joseph Hibberd and Elizabeth Garrat 
(She according to the Custom of Marriage assuming the name of her Husband) as 
a farther Confirmation thereof, Did then & there to these presents Set their 
hands And we whose Names are under written also being present at the 
Solemnization of the Said Marriage & Subscription have act witnesses there 
unto set our hands ye Day and Year above Written
