In the Name of God amen, the thirtieth Day of January in the year of our
Lord 1747 I:  John James of New britain township in the county of bucks and
province of pensilvania weaver Being weak in body but of perfect mind and
memory thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality
of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die, Do make
and ordain this my Last will and testament that is to say principally and
first of all I give and recommend my soul into the Hands of God that gave
it, and for my body, I recommend it to the Erath to be buried in a Cristian
Like and Decent maner at the Discretion of my executor nothing Doubting but
at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same againe by the mighty
power of God, and touching such worthely Estate wherewith it hath plesed God
to bless me in this Life, I give Devise and Dispose at the same in the
following maner and form_______________
Imprimis my will is that all my Debts and funeral Expences be paid and
Discharged_____________________________
Item - I give and bequeth unto my beloved son William
         James the sum of five shillings_________________
Item - I give and bequeth unto my beloved son Isaac James
         the sum of five shillings_________________________
Item - I give and bequeth unto my beloved daughter Sarah
         Lewis the sum of five shillings____________________
Item - I give and bequeth unto my beloved daughter Rebecca
         Miner the sum of one shilling____________________
  my beloved son Thomas James did lend unto me the sum of one hundred pounds
for Eighteen years ago my will is to pay him his money and his Interest in
full principal and Interest Does mount to two hundred and Eight pound______
My Daughter Mary James is willing to Live with her brother Thomas James whom
I Likewise constitute make and ordain my only and sole
executor__________________________
Item - I give and Bequeth to my beloved friend William Davis Baptist
minister the sum of five pound I give if he lives and keeps his place to
preach the Gospel in the new meeting house in the Society where I am a
member____________
Item - I give and Bequeth to my well beloved friend Joseph Eaton Baptist
minister the sum of two pound___________
After all my Lageses is paid my Executor Thomas James is to recover what is
in righting and without righting to recover and to have toward the
maintainance of his sister Mary James if the remainder be to short my will
is to William James and Isaac James and Thomas James and if she consents to
matrimony she is to have but five pound______
All the affore mentioned sums of money I willed and Bequeathed I Do hereby
order my Executor to pay to the affore mentioned parties within the space of
two years after my Decease and I Do nominate and apoint my well beloved
friends and neighbors Griffith Owen and David Jones to be trustees whom I
authorise to take care and see that my will and testament be faithfully
fulfilled and performed in Every particular herein mentioned and Especially
concerning my daughter Mary and I do constitute make and ordain my beloved
son Thomas James to be my only and sole Executor of his my Last will and
Testament of all and singular What Ever I have by him his heirs and assigns
to be posesed and Enjoyed for Ever and I do hereby utterly Disallow Revoke
and Disannul all and Every former wills and Testaments Legacies Bequests and
Executors by me in any ways before this time named willed and Bequeathed
Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last and Testament In
witness here of I have here unto set my hand and seal the Day and year above
written.
