119 PERSONS DIED IN TYRONE DURING THE YEAR OF 1932
21 More than Year 1931; Three Between Ages of 90 and 100; Cancer Takes
a Big Toll
FIVE ACCIDENTAL DEATHS

"When I come to the end of the long, long road,
  The shadows will flee away;
And I'll stand in the glorious light of God,
  Where dwelleth eternal day.

When I come to the end of the long, long road,
And trials will all be past,
I shall look in the face of my dearest friends,
Safe Home in His Heaven at last."

When we come to the end, the end of the road, to the land of
eternity; when we come to the end of life's road, we shall know as we
are known. As we stand at the portals of the new year we look back
over the months that have passed and peep into one hundred and nineteen
homes where the angel of death passed over and called into the life
beyond, dear ones. With tears and aching hearts they laid them away in
the tomb to await the glorious resurrection. To these saddened hearts
and sorely bereaved homes, the sympathy of the Herald and the people of
the community at large is extended.
Death is indeed no respecter of persons and its hand reaches to some
soon after birth, to the old and feeble, calling here and there along
the journey of life. From the cradle to the grave may be a journey of
a few days or months or it may reach down to the golden age. In the
twelve months that have just passed, seven infants less than one years
are included on the roll up yonder, with three of the teen age and
three who had almost reached the century mark in life. So God in His
wise judgment calls away those whom He loves, and while we do not
understand now, some day the mists will roll away and then up there,
all will be made clear.
Carcinoma or cancer tops the list that caused the largest number of
deaths during the past years, while arteriosclerosis, nephritis and
heart disease followed in close proximity. Sixteen deaths occurred in
April; thirteen each in January, October and November. Five persons
died from accidents while 27 passed away in distant cities. The year
1932 had twenty-one more deaths than 1931.
