In the name of God Amen.
Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Elder of the 
Township of Toby County of Clarion and State of Pennsylvania 
being in somewhat febble health yet of sound mind and Sound 
And disposing memory and taking into consideration the 
uncertianities of life the certainy of death and being desirous 
of disposing of that  portion of this worldsgoods whitch it 
has pleased the Almighty to entrust to my 
care while living to that end and for that  purpose I make 
this my last will and Testament.
And first I resign my immortal Soul to God in whom 
I have through life put my confidence and trust and ask 
and desire that those receiving bequest at my hand may 
follow my example who though 
being dead may yet pointing to example speack to them.
Second...As to my personal property I direct that 
my Executors pay off all my just debts and funeral expenses 
as soon after my decease as conveniet to do so out of the 
money or personal property
I may die in possessed of.
Third...To my beloved wife Jane Elder I bequeath all 
thehousehold and kitchen furniture.
One horse her own choice of this horseand one fourth of the 
cattle hogs and sheep of which I  
shall be in possession of.
Fourth... To my Son Samuel B  Elder I devise and give 
the one half of the remainder of horses,
cattle hogs and sheep and the one half of all my farming utinsils.
Fifth... To my son John Elder I devise and give the whole 
remainder  of my horses cattle hogs  
and sheep not bequeahed in the third and fourth sections and the 
remaining one half of my farming 
utinsils.
Sixth...I enjoin on my two sons John and Samuel B. Elder 
that they will  be required to furnish 
my two daughters Sarah E. and Elvira N. Elder each one cow when so 
required by my aforesaid two 
daughters.
Second section...as to my real estate:
I give devise and bequeath to my son Samuel B. Elder all my land 
lying south of the public road running 
east and west through said farm also the field in which his house 
now stands on the north side of said 
road to be his own with liabilities hereinafter named.
Second...I give devise and bequeath to my son John Elder 
all the remainder of the farm on which I now reside with the 
liabilities hereinafter named.
Third...To my daughters Mary E. Amsler, Sarah E Elder, 
Margaret Say and Elvira N. Elder I give devise and bequeath the 
track of land in madison township. Said counting about thirty 
one acres more or less known as the David Mortimer 
(undectable)_________land (undectable)___________.
Fourth...The land I give devise and bequeath to my 
two sons Samuel B.and John Elder I require 
Samuel B. Elder to give to my wife the one fourth of all grain 
raised on his part heretoafore bequeathed to him if she so requires 
it and to pay  to Mary E. Amsler and Margaret Say One hundred and 
fifty dollors each within two and four years after my own and my 
wife Jane Elder deaths. One half  to Mary E  Amsler and one half 
to Margaret Say at the  end of the times heretofore specified.
Fifth... I require John Elder to give to  my wife the one 
fourth of all grain raised on the part heretofore bequeathed to 
him if she so requires it and to pay to Elvira N. and Sarah E. 
Elder the sum of one hundred and fifty dollors each  to be paid 
the same as Samuel B. Elder pays to Mary E. Amsler and Margaret Says. 
and to allow his Mother the use of one half the house as she may 
designate during her lifetime and to see that her comfort and 
Convenience including the keeping of her horse and the stock 
bequeathed to her. And to provide my daughters Sarah with good 
comfortable lodging and boarding so long as she may continue to 
live at home with him and after her mothers death to provide for 
her a room if she so requires it. Or if Sarah should see fit to 
reside with my son Samuel B. then and in that case I require my 
son John to pay to Samuel the one half expenses of her keeping 
if it should be so required. Or in Case Sarah should reside with 
my son Jon then  in that case I require  my son Samuel B. Elder 
to pay to John Elder the one half expenses of her keeping if it 
should be so required.
Sixth...I direct that the land bequeathed to my four 
daughters be by my exectors sold and the 
money be equally devided among them share and share alike to each 
daughter.
And so I make constitue and appoint my two sons Samuel B. Elder and 
John Elder my executors to carry out my provisions of this my 
last will and Testement.
Witnets my hand and seal this 25th day of August AD 1884

We certify that the testator Samuel Elder signed sealed and acknowledged 
the foregoing to be his last 
will in our presence and we in his presence and in the presence of each 
other do set our  hands and seals this  25th day of August 1884 AD


CLARION COUNTY, SS:
Before me S.J. BINGOON, regester for the Probate 
Wills and granting Letters of 
Adminstration in and for the county of Clarion, personally came  
WILLIARD H. CARSON & J.F. FINLIN the subscribing witnesses to the 
foregoing Will, who being duly sworn assording to law,
 do  say, that they were present and saw  and heard SAMUEL ELDER 
deseased,the  Testator therein 
named, sign,_______________seal, publish pronounce and declare the 
foregoing instrument of wrighting as and for  HIS  Last Will and 
Testament, and that  at the time of so doing   HE  was of sound 
mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge and belief.

CLARION COUNTY, SS: We do swear that as  Executors of the  foregoing 
Last Will & Testament of 
SAMUEL ELDER , deceased, WE will well and truly adminster the goods and 
chattles,rights and credits of said deceased, according to law, and 
diligently and faithfully regard, and well and truly comply with the 
provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritances.
