  Leader Vindicator 1942
  John A. Simpson died at his home in Madison township on his 70th birthday,
  Saturday, August 1, 1942.  He was born in Madison township August 1, 1866.
  
  He was first married to Katherine Randolph, and to this union were born the
  following children:  Mrs. Ed McCoy of Rimersburg, R.D., W.E. Simpson of
  Kittanning, Mrs. Nora Markel of East Brady and Mrs. Albert Hosey of Rimersburg,
  all of whom survive.
  
  He was married the second time to Miss Ella Grafton of Worthington PA., who
  survives him along with the following children: Chas. F. and Frank Simpson of
  Vandergrift, Richard Simpson of Blawnox.  Clyde Simpson of Lucinda, Mrs. George
  Altman of Cowansville, Pvt. Darrel Ray Simpson of Savannah, Georgia and Howard,
  John and Melvin at home.   Joseph, Claire and Mrs Catherine Womeldorf preceded
  him in death.  Thirty-two grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive
  as well as the following brothers and sisters:  E.L. Simpson, L.W. Simpson,
  William Simpson and Walter Simpson, all of Rimersburg, and Mrs. Mary Parsons of
  Cleveland, Ohio.    
  He was a member of the Rimersburg Methodist church, the I.O.O.F. lodge and the
  Local Union of the United Mine Workers.
