  Leader Vindicator 1944
  Elijah Lincoln Simpson died at his home in Sandy Hollow at 2:30 a.m., Saturday,
  June 10, 1944, after an illness of 17 days caused by cerebral hemorrhage. He was
  born in Madison township, December 11, 1860, a son of Thomas and Mary Coogan
  [sic] Simpson.  He was married on December 21, 1891 to Louisa Phillips.  He was
  a retired miner.
  
  Mr Simpson is survived by the following children:  Edgar Simpson, Port Matilda,
  Harold Simpson of Sandy Hollow.  Ernest Simpson , U.S. Navy: Nelle G. Dressler,
  Wilkinsburg, Ethyl M. Simpson, Sandy Hollow; Olive M. Hooks, Boyers: Mabel Flora
  Shira, Kittanning;  Mabel McQueeny, Boyer.  Three brothers survive:  Thos.,
  William and Walter Simpson, Rimersburg; also one sister Mary Parsson, Lakewood,
  Ohio.  Three sons are dead:  Raymond Blair, Claude Ardell and Clifford Simpson.
   There are 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
  
  The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Elroy Sayers in charge.
  
  Interment was made in the Rimersburg cemetery.
