  Elvira Shoup died February 19, 1940
  
  Mrs. Elvira Shoup, widow of the late John A. Shoup, a Civil War veteran,
  died Monday, February 19, 1940, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Arthur Law of
  North Freedom, with whom she had made her home for more than four years.
  
  Mrs. Shoup, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Dinger Ferringer, was born
  December 3, 1854, in Clarion county, and was the last survivor of the ten
  children of her fathers family.  She was married to John A. Shoup, who died
  October 20, 1925.  She was a member of the Lutheran church of Clarion.
  
  Surviving are the following nieces and nephews:  Mrs. Arthur Law, North
  Freedom; Mrs. Emma Shaffer, Olean, New York; Mrs. Ella Minich, Truittsburg;
  Mrs. Esther Montgomery, St. Petersburg, Pa; Mrs. Martha Songer, Shannondale;
  Charles Ferringer, Falls Creek; Boyd Ferringer, Mayport; Reed Ferringer,
  Emlenton, and Nelson Ferringer of St. Petersburg, Pa.
  
  Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 oclock in the
  Lutheran church of Shannondale with the Reverend Michael Golner of Ringgold
  and the Reverend Arthur H. Blank of Shannondale, officiating.  Interment was
  made in the Shannondale cemetery under the direction of H H. Sloan.
