Clair Shirey died January 19, 1929

Friends of Clair Shirey were shocked to hear of his death which occurred on
  January 19, 1929.

Clair was the youngest son of Clinton and Sarah (Ben) Shirey and was born
and raised in Monroe Township, near Reidsburg. After he grew to manhood he
went to Canada, took up a homestead, and worked in the oil fields. A few
weeks before his death he got badly burnt while at work on an oil well and
blood poisoning set in. He was taken to a hospital where he died. He
leaves to mourn their loss one brother, Bird Shirey of Freedom, Pa., and one
sister, Anna Williams, also of Freedom. His father died last July and his
mother two years ago. He was in his 39th year and was buried at Medicine,
  Canada.
