  Calvin W. Shilling died August 7, 1959
  
  Calvin W. Shilling, 82 year old resident of Distant (New Bethlehem, R2) died
  at 9:35 p.m. Friday, August 7, 1959, at his home, following a lingering
  illness.
  
  A retired farmer, he was born September 5, 1876, at Ringgold, Jefferson
  County.  His parents were Henry and Luzetta Martz Shilling. He was a member
  of the Baptist Church in Distant.
  
  In July 1901, he married Eva Shumaker, who died in 1945.  In February 1954,
  he married Mazie (Moorhead) Shumaker.
  
  His second wife survives, along with three children  Lloyd and Homer
  Shilling, and Mrs., William (June) Beers, all of Distant.  Other survivors
  are a sister, Mrs. Ella Robinson, of Aliquippa; a half brother, Henry
  Shilling, of Freeport seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and
  three step- children.
  
  Friends were received at his home in Distant, where services were held at 3
  p.m. Monday, August 10, 1959, with Rev. Laverne C. Bissett, his pastor,
  officiating.
  
  Interment took place in Oakland cemetery, Distant.  Arrangements were in
  charge of Reitz Funeral Home, New Bethlehem.
