   Chas. Edwin Shaffer  died June 17, 1939
  
  Chas. Edwin Shaffer, 76, of Mt. Tabor, died Saturday, June 17, 1939, at the
  home of his daughter, Mrs. R. J. Vaughn, of Hill.
  
  Mr. Shaffer, the son of Lewis C. and Caroline Miller Shaffer, was born July
  16, 1863.  On March 17, 1888 he  was married to Miss Cora Hinderliter, who
  survives.
  
  In addition to his wife and son he leaves four daughters: Albert N. Shaffer
  of Mt. Tabor, Mrs. Pearl Minich, Mt. Tabor, Mrs. Wilda Vaughn, Squirrel
  Hill, Mrs. Inez Brocious, Timblin, and Mrs. Fannie Gruver, Sewickley.
  Another daughter, Florence, preceded her father in death.  He also leaves
  forty-one grandchildren, three great grandchildren and the following
  sisters:  Mrs. Salina Dinger, North Freedom, Mrs. Minerva Snyder, Mrs.
  Maggie Brocious, Mrs. Lola Hepler, Mrs. Alice Weaver, Timblin, Mrs. Myrtle
  Hepler, Cottage Hill, and Mrs. Clara Sherry of Beautiful Lookout.
  
  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Mr. Tabor Evangelical
  Church of which he was a member, with the Reverend N. A. Pearce and the Rev.
  Rohland officiating.  Burial was made in the Mt. Tabor cemetery under the
  direction of H. H. Sloan.
