MRS. JERRY BEST

Mrs. Jerry Best, nee Anna Eliza Barlett, was born Nov. 24, 1830, and died
Feb. 7, 1911, aged 80 years, 2 months and 13 days. She was baptized in
early infancy and confirmed May 7, 1859 by Rev. J.S. Shade, Pastor of St.
Paul's Reformed Church. She remained faithful to the church of her choice
for almost 52 years. She was united in marriage with Jeremiah Best, who
preceded her to the Great Beyond four years ago. To them were born two
children, Mrs. James Garis, of Turnip Hole, and Mrs. Chas. Shreffler, of
Delaware. Mrs. Best was a kind and devoted wife and mother and a dear friend
and neighbor. Services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. S. Nicholson,
who spoke from Isaiah 60:20, taking for his theme the last clause of the
verse, For the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of
they mourning shall be ended.
