Recent Deaths
Mrs. G. W. ARBLASTER
Mrs. Sarah (RADER) ARBLASTER, New Bethlehem's oldest resident passed away
at her home in Arch Street, Friday, January 20, 1939, aged 91 years, 6
months and 15 days. She died of the natural infirmities of old age.

Mrs. ARBLASTER was the widow of the late George W. ARBLASTER, for many
years a well known ceramic manufacturer in New Bethlehem, and later, proprietor
of a local laundry.
Mr. and Mrs. ARBLASTER were married October 23, 1866, and aside from a
few years spend in Reynoldsville, Penna, were life-long residents of New
Bethlehem, Penna. Three children were born to their union, two of whom
are deceased, one having died in 1870 and the other in 1872. One son, Carey
M. ARBLASTER, of this place, survives, also one grandchild, Mrs. B. K.
BURKETT, of this place and one great grandchild, Mrs. James FERGUSON, of
Donora, PA.

Mrs. ARBLASTER was born in Red Bank township, Clarion county, July 6, 1847,
the daughter of George RADER. At the age of 5 she moved to the TRUITT farm,
near town, where she resided until her marriage.

Funeral services in her memory were held Monday at 2:00 p.m., from the
home conducted by Rev. Lawrence Ford, pastor of the First Baptist church
of this place. Interment under the direction of Morticians R. R. Mateer
and Son was made in the New Bethlehem cemetery.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs.
Harry GOLD, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph UTLEY, Ford City; Mr. and Mrs. C. T. FAWCETT,
Mrs. Rebecca STEINHAGEN and daughter of New Kensington; Mrs. George WALL
of Braddock; Mrs. Jennie JONES, Swissvale; Mr. and Mrs. Samuel SHANKEL,
Rimersburg; Mr. Ad SHANKEL and daughter, Mrs. PAINTER, William ARBLASTER
of Kittanning; Rev Cary SHINGLEDECKER of Edinboro; Mr. and Mrs. DEEMER
of Summerville; Bert CYPHERT and daughter of Rader's Crossing; Mr. and
Mrs. Cary RADER, Waterson; Mr. and Mrs. W. K. GOLD and daughter of Youngwood;
Bird BRIDESON of Tarentum, and John RADER of North Freedom.
