The Carnesville Herald And Advance March 4, 1943
The third and fourth year Home Economics girls invited the High School faculty to
lunch, February the eleventh, in the club room at Franklin County High School.

Since we did not get to carry out our plans for the tenth district meeting, we
decided to serve the teachers. We planned a very delightful menu. It was a
follows:

Tomato juice cocktail; chicken salad; green beans, cranberry sauce, pickles,
rolls, butter, potato chips, cocoa; desert; jello, whipped cream, cherries,
cookies.

The girls prepared the meal in the lab and ate also. Helen Goolsby, Dociaphene
Cheek, and Dorothy Sosby served the teachers.

All the teachers were present except one. They were: Prof. Lam Payne, Mr. Ford
Boston, Mr. Ed Hubbard, Mr. Jack Ratley, Miss Nell Moorhead, Miss Jessie
Strickland, Mrs. Hubert McMurry, Miss Marion Hubbard, and Mrs. Davis. We regret
very much that Mrs. J.F. Colbert could not be present.

The girls on the decorating committee decorated the club with jonquils and carried
out the valentine and club colors. The place cards were darts trimmed in red darts
with hearts attached to them with blue ribbons.

We, the Home Economics class certainly did enjoy the luncheon and we think the
teachers did also. We are looking forward to this great event again because we
considered it very educational as well as pleasurable.
