      Levi A Sharpnack, farmer and stock raiser, 
Carmichaels, Penna, was born in Cumberland Township, Greene 
County, December 24, 1850. He is a son of John Sharpnack and 
Sarah Antram Sharpnack, who were natives of Pennsylvania and 
of German and English origin. His father was an industrious 
and energetic farmer and stock raiser until his death, April 
8, 1858. His family consisted of eleven children, seven 
living, of whom Levi is the youngest and the only son. He 
was reared on the farm and received a common school 
education; has made choice of farming as his occupation 
through life, and meet with great success. He owns ninety 
two acres of valuable land where he now resides. 
  
      In 1874 he married Elizabeth Armstrong, daughter of 
William Armstrong and Susan Curl Armstrong. Mr Sharpnack is 
of Irish descent. Their children are: Linton Sharpnack; 
Chauncey Sharpnack; Ora Sharpnack; Charles Sharpnack and 
Launa Sharpnack. Mr Sharpnack is a strong Democrat, and one 
of the most influential citizens of his township.
