Dennis "Denny" Cooper, 81, of McDonald, passed in his home 
Friday, May 3, 2024. He was born November 19, 1942, in 
Washington, a son of the late William and Anna Hennon 
Cooper. Denny was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School, 
Class of 1960, where he excelled in football and basketball. 
He then attended Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia, 
where he also played football. Denny ended his football 
career after playing for the Wheeling Iron Man, a semi-pro 
team. He then worked for Donnelley Directory for over 30 
years before retiring for a short while. He then worked for 
Thomas Register and drove a school bus for West Allegheny 
School District. Denny was a member of the McDonald 
Presbyterian Church. He loved spending time with his 
children and grandchildren. He could always be found 
attending his grandchildren's athletic events. He also 
enjoyed playing a round or two of golf when he would visit 
his son, Todd. On April 17, 1964, he married Karen Cook, who 
survives. Also surviving are two children, Todd (Vanessa) 
Cooper of Delaware, and Laurie McKinney of McDonald; a 
sister, Donna Klimas of McDonald; two grandchildren, Jesse, 
and Aaron (Haley) McKinney; and one great-grandchild, Miles 
Cooper McKinney. Deceased is a brother, William Cooper. 
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 
in Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services LLC, where 
services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6.
