The Carnesville Advance May 20, 1910
R.F. McKinnie, one of Carnesville's well known citizens has been busy during the
week securing subscriptions for the building of the bridge across Stephens Creek
on the Western part of Carnesville.

He has secured enough to build the bridge and work will begin at once. The
Ordinary donated one hundred dollars from the county and this long needed bridge
will be completed in a few weeks. Numbers of touring cars have passed thro' town
recently urging the good citizens of Carnesville to bridge this creek so that the
National Highway could be through this part of Franklin County instead of the
present route.

With the completion of the Railroad, the moment the creek is bridged, the new
brick Methodist church and many other improvements that will be made in
Carnesville--will put on new life and energy in our good little town which we have
longed to see. The summer tourist will be able to make the trip much easier and
quicker via Carnesville than via Royston.

We are glad the citizens of Carnesville and community decided to bridge this creek
for it is one of the many things that Carnesville has long needed. Hurrah for
Carnesville!
