Atlanta Constitution, 23 Jun 1907 
A pretty wedding on Wednesday will be that of Miss Maud Roberts of Lavonia, 
Ga. and Mr. Henry Long of Atlanta which takes place in the afternoon at 4 
o'clock at the Presbyterian church in Lavonia. Dr. Jordan, of the Jackson Hill 
Baptist church, will perform the ceremony, and the attendants will be: Mr. 
Hardy Padgett of Atlanta, best man; Mr. Frank Johnson, Mr. Luther Roberts, Mr. 
Elmo Smith, of Gainesville, groomsmen; Miss Maud Swilling of Lavonia, Miss 
Iola Cooley of South Carolina, Miss Villa Rhodes of Sewanee, bridesmaids. Miss 
Vickery of Hartwell will play the wedding march and sing during the ceremony. 
The bride, who is pretty and charming with many friends throughout the south, 
will be gowned in white chiffon and lace and her bouquet will be a shower of 
lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids will wear lingerie gowns and white hats 
and their bouquets will be bride roses. The bridal party and a large company 
of guests will be entertained the night before the wedding at the bride's 
home. Mr. Long and his bride will go to Niagara, Washington and other eastern 
cities on their wedding trip and returning they will be at home at 270 Houston 
Street. Mr. Long, who is successfully associated with the Oglesby Grocery 
Company, has a large circle of friends to congratulate him and to welcome his 
bride on her arrival.
