In the name of God Amen I, Frederick High of the township of Frederick in the 
county of Montgomery and state of Pennsylvania Yeoman being weak in body but 
of sound mind, memory and understanding, praised be God for the same but 
considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this 
my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:

First: It is my will and I do order and direct that all my just debts and 
funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be 
after my decease.

Also: I direct that a fair evaluation or appraisement be made according to law 
of my estate by two competent and impartial neighbors.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Barbara, the use and 
possession of one  cow, three hogs, and two Shoats (sic  goats??) her choice; 
Also all the rye and wheat which I shall or may have at the time of my decease 
except what is in the ground or on the fields; Also hay sufficient to feed her 
cow until there will be pasture; also potatoes as many as she shall desire to 
have; also two beds her choice, one stove and pipe, together with such of my 
household furniture and kitchen utensils as she may choose to keep for her own 
use; and the rest residue and remainder of property real or personal of which 
I shall be seized or possessed of shall be sold by my hereinafter named 
executor at public sale as soon as conveniently can be after my decease and 
all my outstanding monies be collected and after paying my just debts and 
funeral expenses the remainder thereof my said executor shall put out ot 
interest on good security and the interest arising there from shall be paid to 
my said wife yearly and efery year during her natural lifetime provided she so 
long remains my widow. All of which legacies and bequeaths to my said wife I 
hereby five and bequeath to her as long as she remains my widow --- and no 
longer and hereby declare the same to be in lieu and stead of her dower at 
common law if she shall so elect.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my two single daughters Charlot (sic) and Mary 
each the sum of twenty dollars first and foremost out of my estate to be paid 
to them as soon as they arrive at the age of twenty one years respectively.

Item: Immediately after the decease or marriage of my said wife my said 
executor shall dispose of all the articles or property herein bequeathed to my 
said wife and the monies arising there from together with the money 
hereinbefore ordered to be secured for the use of my said wife after having 
paid there out to my two daughters which I have hereinbefore bequeathed to 
them, the residue and remainders thereof I hereby give and bequeath to all my 
children share and share alike and to their heirs and assigns forever. The 
heirs or representatives of any of my children who shall have died before the 
time of such division or distribution of my estate shall be entitled to such 
share or shares as their respective ancestors would have been entitled to 
receive if they were living. And should I die seized or possessed of any real 
estate then I do hereby vest in my said executor full power and authority to 
dispose of my real estate in fee simple or otherwise in as full and large a 
manner in every respect as I could myself do if living.

And lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my son, Benjamin High,  to be 
the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other 
wills, legacies and bequeaths by ne heretofore made and declaring this and not 
other to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof, I, the said Frederick High, have hereunto set my hand and 
seal, the ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight 
hundred and fifty one.

Signed, sealed and declared by the above named Frederick High as and for his 
last will and testament in presence of us who at his request have signed and 
witnessed to the same.

On the 22 day of August AD 1853 personally appeared John H. Steiner 
and Wm Gottshalk the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and being 
duly affirmed according to law did dispose and say they were present and saw 
and heard Frederick High the testator of said will sign, seal, publish and 
declare this same will as his last will and testament and at the time of so 
doing he was of a sound disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best 
of their knowledge and belief. That they signed as witnesses to the same at 
the request of said testator in his presence and in the presence of each other.

Additional Comments:
Frederick's son Benjamin was a well known citizen in Phoenixville, Chester 
County and was a supervisor at the Phoenixville Iron Works.
