Will of John Evans

I John Evans of Uwchland Township in the County of Chester and Province of 
Pennsylvania Yeoman being weak in Body but of Sound mind and Memory with 
thankfulness of Heart to Almighty God for all his Mercies and Favours on me 
bestowed In Consideration of the Uncertainty of human life do make and Ordain 
this my last Will and Testament in Manner following

Imprimis, It is my Will that all my Just debts and Funeral Charges be paid and 
discharged.

Item I give and Bequeath unto my Dear and Loving Wife Sarah Evans the one Third 
Part of all my Estate Both Real and Personal during her Natural life.

Item It's my Will that my wife Sarah shall have the Whole Benefit Arising from 
my Estate, Untill my Daughter Elizabeth Arrives to the age of Eighteen Years. 
That is to say my wife Sarah Clothing Maintaining and Learning my Children here 
after Named to Read Wright and Cypher to thee Rule of three

Item it's my Will that when my Daughter Elizabeth arrives to the age of Eighteen 
Years that my Executor hereafter named Shall give my Daughter Elizabeth One Good 
and Sufficient Cow and Calf

Item It's my Will that then my Estate Both Real and Personal be Equally Divided 
Between My four Daughters hereafter named that is to say my Daughter Elizabeth, 
Margaret, Hannah, and Lydia. 

Item I do hereby fully Impower my Executors hereafter named to make and Deed to 
my Real Estate when there shall be a Division Made

Item Appoint institute and Ordain my Loving Wife Sarah Evans and Archibald Young 
of Bradford Township Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby 
revoking and making Void all other Wills and Testaments and Legacies thereunto 
made by me Ratifying and reaffirming this and no other to be my Last Will and 
Testament, As Witness my Hand and Seal dated this sixteenth day of June in the 
Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine , 1779 John Evans, 
seal, Signed Sealed and wished and Pronounced by the said John Evans as his Last 
will and Testament in the Presence of us the Subscribers Even Evans, Aaron 
Martin, Mordecai Evans, August the 11th 1779. Then personally Appeared Evan 
Evans and Mordecai Evans and on their Solemn Affirmations According to Law did 
declare Affirm and Say that they were Personally Present and did see and hear 
John Evans the Testator Above Named sign seal Publish Pronounce and declare the 
above writing as and for his Last Will and Testament and that it the doing 
thereof he Was of a Perfect and well disposing mind and Memory to the best of 
their Understanding.
