Last Will and Testament of Griffith Owens Snr.; Cambria 
Township; Cambria Cnty., PA



I, Griffith Owens considering the uncertainty of this mortal
life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish
this my last will and testament to __________ _______________
following, that is to say, First I will that my just debts, as 
shall be owing by me at my  death, together with my funeral 
expenses and all charges financing the performing of or 
otherwise concerning this my Will shall in the first place out 
of my Personal effects be fully paid and satisfied and _____  
and after payment thereof and subject thereunto, I bequeath all 
the cash residue and remainder of my personal property, goods 
and chattels of what land and nature soever to my beloved Wife 
Ann Owens.

I further give devise and bequeath to my son David Owens and his 
heirs all that _________ or parcel or tract of land situate in 
the Township of Cambria and in the County aforesaid, where I now 
reside, ______ The lands of Richard Rowlands, Richard Evans and 
others together with all my free hold Estate whatsoever to him 
the said son David Owens and his heirs forever.

Also my will is that my said beloved wife Ann Owens should live 
in the House we now live and to have the privilege to keep One 
Cow, Five Sheeps, with my son David, Cows, & sheeps mind the 
_______ without any compensation during her natural life, and 
also to pay her the sum of sixty dollars per year to be paid by 
my son David Owens to be paid at the end of each and every year 
during her natural life, which _____ or _______.  Also I give 
her Coal as much as she wants and to both free of her dower.
_____  _____ she should choose to ____ ____ _____ ____ I give 
and bequeath to her the sum of sixty Dollars per year to be paid 
by my son David Owens  at the end of each and every year during 
her natural life which sum or sums use to be in place of her 
Dower.

And on the other hand if Ann my wife will choose to dwell some 
other place or with one of my children, the House is to be to 
David my son and to be free after keeping the Cow and the five 
sheeps.

Also I give ___grandchildren?____Children as follows Jane Ann 
One Dollar.

Amelia One Dollar, Thomas One Dollar, and to _______ Ellen One 
Dollar.

Also I give and bequeath to my son Griffith Owens the sum of Two 
Hundred Dollaars.

Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah the sum of Fifty 
Dollars.

Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth the sum of 
fifty Dollars.

To be paid by my son David Owens after the termination of Two 
years after my decease.

And if either of my said heirs should die before the portion of 
him or her, so dying shall become payable, then his or her 
portion so dying shall descend to their respective heirs. Also I 
make and Ordain Andrew Gittins and my son, David Owens to be 
Executors of this my last will and testament _________.
Hereby revoking all former wills by me made in witness 
thereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this the Twenty 
first Day of June, One Thousand eight Hundred and sixty.

Sen to be his last will and testament in the presence of us at 
his request and in his presence have inscribed our names as a 
Witness Thereof.
