The Last Will and Testament of Francis Gallespie, late of
Cambria County, Deceased
In the name of God Amen, I Francis Gillespie of the
township of Carroll, County of Cambria, State of Pennsylvania,
being sound of memory and mind, praise be to God for the same,
and knowing the certainty of Death, do make and publish this my
last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all
former wills and Testaments by me made at any time.
First, I direct that my body be intered (sic) in the burial
ground of St. Benidict's (sic) Church in Carrolltown, according
to the rites and ceremonies of the Catholic Church and that my
funeral be conducted according to the discretion of my Executor
herein after named and as to such worldly goods and Estate as it
has pleased God to entrust me with, I do dispose of them as
follows:
First, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses
be paid out of the first money that shall come into the had of
my Executor from any portion of my Estate Real or Personal. I
do give and bequeath to my son John Gillaspie the sum of one
dollar. I do give and bequeath to my son James Gillespie the
sum of one dollar. I do give and bequeath to my son Mark
Gallaspie one hundred acres of land which he now occupies. I do
give and bequeath to my daughter Hellen, wife of Henry Arble,
the sum of one dollar. I do give and bequeath to John Gillaspie
the sum of fifty dollars, he is a son of my late son Francis. I
do give and bequeath to my daughter Margret, now wife of Philip
Barnacle, the sum of five dollars. I do give and bequeath to my
son Patrick Gillaspie, the sum of one hundred dollars. I do
give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Gillaspie the sum of
two hundred dollars, and to her son John Dick the sum of ten
dollars. I do give and bequeath to my daughter Agnes the sum of
two hundred dollars and to her daughter Isabel Snyder, the sum
of forty dollars. I do give and bequeath to Isabel Gillaspie,
my wife, the sum of two hundred dollars, together with all my
personal estate and all my real estate, which remains unsold at
this date, and I do hereby nominate and appoint Isabel Gillaspie
my wife my true and lawful Executor of this my last Will and
Testament in witness whereof I Francis Gillaspie have set my
hand and seal to this my Will written on one sheet of paper this
16th day of June, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

Signed and sealed, published, and declared by the testator
Francis Gallespie as his last Will and Testament in the presence
of us, who in his presence at his request. In the presence of
each other have subscribed as witnesses there unto.

Before me Geo. C. K. Zahm, Deputy Register for the probate
of Wills and granting Letters of Administration, in and for said
County, personally came Robert McCombie one of the subscribing
witnesses of the foregoing Will, who being duly sworn according
to the law, doth depose and say that he was present and saw and
heard Francis Gillaspie the Testator, sign, seal, publish,
pronounce, and declare, the foregoing Instrument of writing as
and for his last will and testament, and at the time of so doing
he was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of
his knowledge and belief.
