The Last Will and Testament of David Templeton Dec'd
In the name of God, Amen, I David Templeton of Sinking Valley, Blair County
and State of Pennsylvania being of sound mind memory and understanding and
considering the uncertainty of the frail and transitory life, do therefore
make ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will & Testament. That is
to say:
First after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my
Estate real and personal, I give bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit: to
my beloved wife all my household and kitchen furniture, the farm and
appurtenances situated thereon known as my farm and upon which I now reside
lying in Sinking Valley Blair County Pennsylvania to have and to hold and
enjoy the whole proceeds thereof during her natural life- I also give and
bequeath o her all the farming implements on said farm in my possession
consisting of one threshing machine one grain Didl? Champion Reaper and mower -
plows and Harrows one Horse Wagon on 2 horse Wagon and one spring wagon and
all other farming implements on said farm. And also I give and bequeath to
her all my entire stock of horses, cattle, sheep, and hogs, except one bay
horse named Charley, and one bay mare named Fanny, to my son David Clark I
give and bequeath the bay horse named Charley, and to my son Chambers the bay
mare named Fanny.
It is also my wish and desire that my two sons David Clark and Chambers will
farm the place until Chambers arrives at the age of twenty-one years, and when
Chambers arrives t that age it is my wish and desire that my beloved wife will
select two of her neighbors to appraise and value the live stock and farming
implements and sell them to my sons D. Clark and Chambers, and also lease them
the farm the sons giving her the one third of the yearly proceeds and income
of said farm.
I hereby order that Chambers and Clark shall keep feed and take care of one
horse and two cows for their mothers use during their lease of farm.
Immediately after the death of my wife, I wish the farm to be sold and out of
the proceeds arising from such sale I hereby order and direct my executors
hereinafter named to pay to my son Alexander the sum of three hundred dollars -
and to my son D. Clark the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, as
consideration in full for services rendered after they arrived at the age of
manhood and the balance of the funds arising from the proceeds of such sale to
be divided among my children named as follows to wit: my son Alexander, Samuel
B., D. Clark, my daughter Eliza Jane - Matilda now intermarried with Samuel E.
Close, Chambers, equally share and share alike and to my son John I give
twenty dollars and to my grand children the sons and daughters of John K. an
equal share or amount equal to that of any of my own sons or daughters. I
also order and direct my executors to pay to my son John K. the amount of the
share I have willed to his children to be held in trust by him for their
benefit.
Likewise I make constitute and appoint my said sons Alexander and John K. to
be executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former
wills by me made.
In Witnesses whereof: I have hereunto subscribed my (unreadable) and affirmed
my seal the second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy eight.

This 16th day of October A. D. 1878 before me A. Lingenfelter,
Register for the Probate of Wills and granting letters of Administrations in
and for the County of Blair personally came R. C. Galbraith and A. D. Morrow
the subscribing witnesses to the _______ will, and being duly sworn according
to law did depose and say they were personally present and saw and heard David
B. Templeton the testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the
foregoing instrument and last will, that they signed their names in the
presence and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of each
other, and that at the time of so doing he the said Testator was of perfect
and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and
belief sworn and subscribed before me.

Before me the Register for the Probate of Wills and granting letters
of Administration in and for the County of Blair personally came Alexander
Templeton and John K, Templeton who being duly sworn do depose and say that as
Executors of the last Will and Testament of David Templeton, deceased they
will well and truly administer the goods and chattels rights an credits of
said deceased according to law. Also the Estate and effects, real and
Personal for or in respect of which the above Probate is applied for does not
in value exceed the sum of Eight Thousand Dollars to the best of their
knowledge and belief. Sworn and affirmed subscribed before me:

Alex Templeton and John K. Templeton Ex. of David Templeton, dec'd
Memorandum: Proof of Death filed. Letters Testamentary were this day issued
to Alex Templeton and John K. Templeton Executors of the last Will and
Testament of David B. Templeton, Deceased. Witness my hand and official seal
this 16th day of Oct. A.D. 1878.
First and final account filed March 9th, 1894 and certified to the Orphan's
Court at June Term 1894.
