In The Name of God Amen, I Henry Kifer of the Township Blair County State of Pennsylvania 
being sick and weak in Body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding (praised be to God 
for it) considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and the to end I 
may be better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me home do 
therefore make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) - 
First and principally, I commend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my creator and direct 
that my body be decently interred according to the rites and ceremonies of the Brethren Church 
and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life.

As to the estate as it hath pleased God to entrust me with, I dispose of the same following: 

Item - I give and bequeath my beloved wife, Nancy Kifer all of my personal property which is 
left after paying the funeral expenses to which she shall have and hold during her natural life and 
dispose of them before her death as she may think proper.  I also bequeath to my wife all of my 
real estate during her natural life. 

Item -  I give and bequeath to my oldest son, Jacob Kifer all of my estate after death of said wife 
to have and to hold the same forever.   

Item - I give and bequeath to each of my six remaining children viz. Nancy Detwiler, Margaret 
(Houp?), Martha Davis, Catherine Severs, Levi Kifer, and William Kifer, one dollar.   

Item - I give and bequeath to my grandson, Henry Kifer, my rifled gun.

Item - My son Jacob shall farm the land herein bequeathed to my wife during her natural life and 
shall pay all of the taxes thereon and provide for my wife a comfortable living during her life 
lastly.

And I hereby constitute and appoint my said son Jacob Kifer sole executor of this, my Last Will 
and Testament.  In witness whereof, I Henry Kifer the testator  make this my last will, written on 
one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty first day of March AD One Thousand Eight 
Hundred and Seventy Nine

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Henry Kifer as and for his last Will 
and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at this time as 
witnesses hereto in the presence of the said testator and each other.
