The Fulton County news. (McConnellsburg, Pa.): October 05, 1899
Mr. H. A. Burnett died at Bedford, Monday evening of last week, of
typhoid-pneumonia. He was a son of Henry H. Barnett, and was born at Hancock,
Maryland, in 1853. At the age of thirteen he entered the store of his uncle, A. B.
Taney, as a clerk and afterward clerked for J. M. Bedding. He went to Bedford with
J. M. Bedding and clerked in his store till 1886, when he went into business for
himself. He was a man of great business ability, thoroughly honest in all his
business transactions and successful in his undertakings. In the Spring of this
year, he and his brother E. A. Burnett, begun the erection of a new store room which
is now nearly completed. This store, when finished, will be one of the largest
department stores in Southern Pennsylvania.
