 Deed of Gift or Will  of Mary Reinhart, deceased

I, Mary Reinhart, Widow, do send greeting, know ye that I thee said Mary 
Reinhart of Greene County, State of Pennsylvania for and in consideration of 
the love and good will & affection I have for the persons hereafter mentioned 
by name do have unto them at my death in the following manner & form.  I Mary 
Reinhart do by these presents give at my decease to Bennet & Thomas Reinhart 
forty pounds that is now left in the care of Thomas Reinhart - to be equal 
divided at my death between the two Thomas and Bennet Reinhart to them or 
their heirs or assigns as theirs only.  Likewise I give unto Susanna Strawhan 
and to Susanna Reinhart at my death all my household goods and wearing cloths, 
my Chest and whatever there is within the said Chest & whatever there is 
within the house at my death with all the grain with all the grain I shall 
leave unto them or their heirs or assigns has a free gift.  All which I desire 
by these free presents may faithfull..performed at my death.  In witness 
whereof I have set my hand and Seal this sixteenth day of June in the year of 
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four.

Additional Comments:
Greene County, PA Will Book 1, p. 50  Letters of Administration for "the will 
annexed" were granted on Sept.5, 1805 to Isaiah Strawn and John Thomas 
Reinhart, the same day that James Eagon swore that Mary Reinhart was of "sound 
and disposing mind..."  when she wrote the will -deed of gift in which she did 
not name executors.

In his 1793 will Thomas Reinhart left his "beloved wife Anne Marie"  a life 
estate in his home and property which at her death was to pass to his 
grandchildren - John Thomas Rinehart and Susannah Rinehart, children of his 
deceased son John.

Greene County, PA Will Book 1, p. 50  Letters of Administration for "the will 
annexed" were granted on Sept.5, 1805 to Isaiah Strawn and John Thomas 
Reinhart, the same day that James Eagon swore that Mary Reinhart was of "sound 
and disposing mind..."  when she wrote the will -deed of gift in which she did

I note that James Eagon was also a witness to her husband's will in 1793 along 
with a Bernard (Barnet?) Eagon. 

In December, 1805, three months after these L of A were granted,  John 
Thomas Rinehart and his sister Susanna drew up papers dividing the property 
left them by their grandfather Thomas Reinhart.  By this time they were both 
married.   These papers were signed by John T. Rinehart and Susannah Rinehart 
(her mark) and by Isaiah and Susannah Strawn (her mark)." The Justice of the 
Peace, Thomas Hughes, interviewed "Susannah Reinhart and Susannah Strawn 
separate from their husbands."    The only reason Isaiah Strawn was there was 
if he had married Susannah Reinhart!!  1820 census:  John T Rinehart and 
Isaiah Strawn are neighbors.

I believe this Mary Reinhart is the widow of Thomas Reinhart who died in 1793 
and left a will in Washington County (Greene was not yet formed). She names 
the same sons of Thomas Reinhart - Thomas and Barnet.   John T. and Susanna 
Reinhart were the grandchildren named in Thomas' 1793 will. Thomas called her 
Ann Marie in his will, but she may have been called just Mary by others. James 
Eagon was a witness to both wills . This is not definite proof but does imply 
she may have been an Eagon.  

On April 25,  1817 James Eagon in his will did " devise unto my son Barnet 
Eagon his heirs and assigns forever all my tract of land situate in Jefferson 
township aforesaid, adjoining lands of Samuel Hathaway, Bernet Rhinehart, Nathaniel 
Hughs & others.
