Will Book 2, p. 548 In the name of God Amen I William Gregg of Pikerun 
Township  Washington County & state of Pennsylvania being weak in body though 
sound in memory and recollection do make this my last will and testament 
revoking all others Believing that it is appointed for all men oncet to dye & 
after death judgement I do cheerfully (?) resign my body to the grave & my 
soul to God who gave it And in the next place I do desire my after named 
Executors to dispose and divide my real & personal estate in the following 
manner In the first place I do desire that when the God of Heaven & Earth 
should please to cut the brittle thread of my unworthy life that my Executors  
should decently bury my shattered frame in the earth I do request that my 
funeral sermon shall be preached by some person that my executors think proper 
and after my funeral expenses and my just debts be paid that I will and 
bequeath unto my step brothers and Nephews all my coopers tools to be equally 
divided amongst them meaning my father's sons and my sister Nancy's sons. Also 
I will and bequeath unto my step brother Andrew my saddle and saddle blanket 
Also I will and bequeath the remainder of my personal estate to my sister 
Sarah my stepsister Elizabeth and my neace Eleanor Gregg to be equally divided 
amongst them by my Executors except the account that I have against the estate 
of John Gregg the deceased that to be divided in the following manner that is 
to say to be equally divided between my sister Nancy Gregg my sister Sarah 
Gregg & Elizabeth Nixon daughter of Thomas Nixon. Also I will and bequeath to 
the aforesaid Elizabeth Nixon thirty dollars a  year as long as she lives 
single & at her marriage then to cease and then all of profits of my real 
estate to be divided between my sis Sarah & my sister Nancy and their heirs if 
Sarah should have any but if Sarah should  never marry at her death all the 
profits of my real estate shall go to my sister Nancy & her heirs forever but 
the land not to be sold while there is an heir legally by law belonging to 
either of the two above mentioned sisters Nancy & Sarah & for true performance 
& the execution of this my last will and testament I do appoint Thomas Hopkins 
Barnent Johnson & Henry Gregg Esq. my Executors as Witness my hand

Washington County ss Be it remembered that on the twentieth day of September in the year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen before me Isaac Kerr 
Register for the probate of Wills and granting Letters Testamentary in and for 
said County, came William Thatcher and William Johnson, the  subscribing 
witnesses to the within last will and testament, of William Gregg, late of the 
county aforesaid, deceased, who being duly sworn as the law directs, do depose 
and say that they were personally present, and did see the Testator herein 
named, sign this last will and testament,  That at the time of his so doing, 
he was to the best of their apprehensions, of sound and disposing mind , 
memory and understanding; and that they respectively  subscribed their names 
as witnesses to this will, in the presence, and at the request of the 
Testator, and in the presence of each other. 
And sworn and subscribed before  me Isaac Kerr, Register  
William Thatcher   William Johnson September 20th 1814 

Letters Testamentary with copy of the will and probate 
annexed issued to Thomas Hopkins Esquire, Barnet Johnson, and Henry Gregg 
Esquire who on the same day were duly sworn.
