Application for probate of will of Lizzie Caldwell also known as Elizabeth 
Caldwell late of Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania 
deceased, and Grant of Letters Testamentary

Washington County,)  Before the Registrar of Wills of Washington 
County, personally appeared W.M. Caldwell who being duly sworn says that 
Lizzie Caldwell, also known as Elizabeth Caldwell late resident of Cross 
Creek Township a citizen of the United States died at 1:30 o'clock P.m., on 
the 22nd day of August A.D. 1936 leaving an estate of the estimated value of 
$1000.oo personalty and none realty.  The decedents legatees and devisees 
are as follows:

Testator has not married and no children have been born since the execution 
of the will offered for probate
Petitioner prays that the paper writing filed herewith dated 23rd day of 
January 1932 and Codicil dated August 7, 1934 may be admitted to probate as 
the last will and Testament of said decedent, and to grant Letters of 
Administration c.t.a. thereon to W.M. Caldwell whose postoffice address is 
R.D. Rea, PA.

Washington County)And now Sept 1, 1936, comes 
W.M. Caldwell who being duly sworn doth depose and say that he will well and 
truly administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Lizzie 
Caldwell, deceased, to the best of his skills and judgment in strict 
compliance with the laws of this Commonwealth, mindful of the laws relating 
to inheritance taxes.

This 1st day of Sept. A.D. 1936

I, Elizabeth Caldwell of Cross Creek Township, Washington County, 
Pennsylvania do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby 
revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.
1. I direct my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid out of my 
Estate.
2. I give, devise and bequeath all my property, real and personal, 
of every kind to my brother Wallace McW. Caldwell of West Alexander, PA., 
and hereby appoint him Executor of this my last will and Testament.
Witness my hand and seal this 23rd day of January 1932.

Elizabeth Caldwell to be her last Will and Testament in the presences of us, 
who at her request, in her presence and in the presences of each other, have

I, Lizzie Caldwell, also known as Elizabeth Caldwell, do make and publish 
Codocil No. 1 to my last Will and Testament dated January 23, 1932
(a) I direct my Executor to place a marker at my grave and pay for 
it out of my estate.
(b) I give and bequeath to my Nephew William M. Caldwell, the sum of 
Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars.
(c) In all other respects my Will is to stand as written

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this 1st day of Sept. 1936 before me S.A. 
Barnum Registrar for the Probate of Wills and granting letters of 
Administration within and for said county, came R.W. Know and Malzene 
Corbett the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing attached Will of Lizzie 
Caldwell, who, after being duly qualified according to law, depose and say: 
That they were present at the execution of said Will  saw the testratrix 
sign the same  heard her publish is as and for her last Will and Testament; 
that they at her request, in her presence and in the presence of each other 
subscribed their names thereto as witnesses; and at the time of doing 
thereof said testratrix was of sound, disposing mind, memory and 
understanding, to the best of the affiant's knowledge and belief.

Personally appeared R.W. Knox and Malzene Corbett the subscribing witnesses 
to Codicil No 1 under date of Aug, 7th 1934 to the foregoing last Will and 
Testament of Lizzie Caldwell alias Elizabeth Caldwell, deceased, dated Jan. 
23rd 1936 and on their solemn oath that they were present and did see and 
hear Lizzie Caldwell alias Elizabeth Caldwell deceased, the testratrix 
therein named sign, seal. Publish and declare the same as and for a Codicil 
to her last Will and Testament and that as the doing thereof she was of 
sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of the 
affiant's knowledge and belief.
