Will of Jane Caldwell, decd

In the name of God, Amen. I Jane Caldwell of Hopewell Township in Washington 
County and State of Pennsylvania being of sound mind and memory, Bless be to 
God for the same do make, ordain and publish this my last will and testament 
in manner following:

First, it is my will that after my decease my body be buried in a Christian 
and decent like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named 
and that my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid and head and foot 
stone be put to my grave.
Item: I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Maxwell what she has already 
got and equal divide of my books.
Item: I will and bequeath to me daughter Jane Templeton what she has already 
got and an equal divide of my books.
Item I will and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Caldwell one bedstead and 
bedding one bureau and stand and an equal divide of my books.
Item: I will and bequeath to my son Robert S. Caldwell an equal divide of my 
books.
Item: I will and bequeath to my son William S. Caldwell what he has already 
got one desk, one clock, one dining table, one set of chairs and an equal 
divide of my books
Item: The balance of my estate of whatever name I wish to be equally divided 
between my daughters Mary Maxwell, Jane Templeton, Sarah Caldwell and 
William S. Caldwell.
Lastly I do nominate and appoint my son Robert S. Caldwell Executor of this 
my last will and testament as evidence as witness, my hand and seal this 
twelfth day of October 1859. Jane (her mark) Caldwell

Washington County SS: Be it remembered that on this 22nd day of August A.D. 
1860 before me H. J. Vankirk Registrar for the probate of wills and granting 
letters of administration in and for said county came James Hughes, Exqr, 
and Samuel Caldwell the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of jane 
Caldwell, decd who after being duly qualified according to law, do depose 
and say, that they were both present at the execution of said will and say 
the said testatrix put her make thereto; that they heard her acknowledge the 
same as and for her last will and testament; that they attested the same as 
witness, on her request, in her presence and in presence of each other; and 
at the time of so doing, the said testatrix was of sound and disposing mind, 
memory and understanding to the best of their judgment, observation and 
belief.
