Will of Sara Beaty Will probated February 8 1816

In the name of God, Amen. I,Sara Beaty, wife of Joseph Beaty, deceased, of Smith
Townshipand Washington County and state of Pennsylvania, being old, sick, and
infirm,  but of sound mind, memory, and understanding, taking into consideration the
certainty of death, and the uncertainty of life, do make  and publish this, my last
will and testament And first of all I give my soul unto God who gave it, and my body
to be decently buried  according to the custom of the country at the discretion of my
executors herein after named I next give and bequeath to William Beaty, son of
William Beaty, Sr., James Martins note.  I next give and bequeath unto Martha
Thompson, daughter of John Thompson, the remainder of my personal estate, excepting
what is already bequeathed, and I will and allow all my moveable property to be sold
and the amount of my estate be entirely in the control of my executors until the said
Martha Thompson arives at the years of maturity.  At that period, the said Martha is
to receive the same. And in case the said Martha Thompson dies before she arrives at
the years of maturity, then I allow that thesame shall be equally divided between
John Thompson father of Martha Thompson, William Beaty, son of William Beaty, Sr.,
and Catherine Donally.  I next give and bequeath unto Rosanah Donally all my every
day clothes and two calico gowns. I also give unto Margaret Donally three shifts
also to Mary Donally my umbrella also to Catherine Donally my wheel.  I also give
and bequeath unto Letty Beaty wife ofWilliam Beaty, my blue gown and bonnet.  And
lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint Joseph Thyler and James Keys, both of
Smith Township to be executors of this, my last will and Testamrnt revoking and dis
annulling all will or wills heretofore by me made and declaring this to be my last
will and testament, in witness whereof I have signed my name  and affixed  my seal
this second day of December in the year of our Lord, 1815

Note: A Joseph Beaty served as Private in Capt. Carson's Rangers during the
Revolution from Washingron County. This Joseph is probably a brother to Thomas
Beaty, but no documentarion to prove this.
